CAVS - Companion Animal Veterinary Service was formed in 2003 by Marlene Baumeister to serve the west Michigan community. Marlene graduated from Michigan State University with a doctors degree in Veterinary Medicine. The goal of the clinic is
to provide the absolute best care for the patients; to promote preventive medicine that will ensure a long and healthy lifetime for your pets and farm animals; to practice with compassion and professionalism and to establish long and lasting
relationships with our clients. The staff is trained to respond to your needs and questions with courtesy and a sense of urgency. The CAVS facilities provide an excellent work environment where our staff can return your animals to good health in the shortest possible time.
CAVS acquired Westshore Animal Clinic in Whitehall, MI in May of 2006. The new location and additional staff allow us the opportunity to expand our geographic coverage as well as our services. Please note, we now provide 24 Hour Emergency Service. We have three doctors to rotate our 24 hour emergency service. Our doctors handle all the emergency services for both clinics and rotate at both clinics so that our clients can get to know all of us. (We are currently only booking large animal appointments out of our Shelby office.)
Our doctors: Marlene Baumeister. DVM (owner)
Holly Stockley, DVM
Sarah Velat DVM

We realize that a sick animal cannot always come to us, so we routinely make house and farm calls. We have two trucks that are organized and equipped to allow us to perform many procedures in the field. We do large animal calls four days a week.
